At Beaufort, our children learn the high level of scientific skills required to be explorers and investigators of the world around them. We motivate and inspire children to ask questions about how things work and consider the answers to, ‘What if..?’ questions. We encourage curiosity and challenge perceptions of the way our world works. Our aim is to enable children to become successful scientists.
Opportunities are made for children to take learning outside of the classroom, making experiences more real and concrete. Children at Beaufort will take the skills learned and developed in the classroom out into the world. They develop a secure understanding of scientific concepts which help them to make sense of their world, embarking on projects which demonstrate their understanding of changes to materials, living things and physical processes. Where possible, links are made across the curriculum, ensuring a smooth and diverse learning experience.
