Our School History

Beaufort School is situated in Goldsworth Park, a large housing development built during the 1970’s and 1980’s, which lies to the west of Woking town centre and has a large recreation ground. The estate contains a variety of house types and sizes including bungalows, detached and semi-detached homes.

Beaufort School was first opened as First and Middle Schools in September 1978 and was amalgamated in 1993. Today it is a two form entry school, which not only strives to deliver a high quality primary education, but has the wellbeing and care of children at the heart of everything that we do.

We aim high and are ambitious for our children: we want them to be happy and self-confident, to develop a love for learning and to be the very best that they can be. We achieve excellence by creating a high quality learning environment, focused on the individual needs and interests of our children. Our staff are hardworking, highly motivated and committed to guiding every child to achieve success.

Visitors to the school comment on the lovely atmosphere, the happy team of staff and the well behaved children. Children talk with pride about their learning and are eager to share their high quality work. Our children, parents, governors and staff are all very proud of our school.

We were delighted, in January 2014, when our school was awarded Academy Status by the DFE. This ensured that we were able to continue developing our school in its own unique way, while working closely with four other local schools with a similar values based ethos.
